The Executive Director, Facilities Operations, Development & Planning plans, directs and provides strategic oversight of the District's facilities functions, and programs, including the maintenance, operations, and inspections of existing infrastructure, requests for proposals for professional services and the bidding process, skilled-crafts, utility services, supply and inventory control, and liaison for all major capital construction projects. They Will oversee and assess environmental impact, energy management and sustainability initiatives and interface with community, media, local jurisdictions and other public agencies regarding facilities planning activities; and performs other related duties as assigned.

The Director of Facilities, Planning, & Services will exercise leadership and supervision of the areas assigned and over assigned positions, implement the department's vision by developing and implementing goals and objectives as well direct the construction, maintenance, and operation of the District's facilities, grounds, utilities, and energy management. They will oversee capital projects, ensure compliance with relevant environmental and safety laws, and coordinate between departments, District managers, department heads, contractors, and other campus groups.

The Director of Sustainability manages a portfolio of initiatives and projects in support of the University of California, Riverside Office of Sustainability which includes close coordination with the Academic Sustainability Faculty Lead.

The Director of Sustainability performs duties under the general direction of the Director of Facilities Maintenance in areas pertaining to the development and implementation of energy and resource conservation strategies and policies, operational effectiveness of building systems, utility infrastructure systems, mechanical, and electrical systems.
