California Youth Leadership Corps (CYLC)

Preparing young people to organize and lead in their local communities.

CYLC is a statewide initiative that prepares young people to become community organizers and skilled leaders in their local communities. CYLC collaborates with state and local partners to provide community change learn-and-earn career pathways opportunities across California.

Community Learning Partnership (CLP) is a national non-profit organization focused on building a workforce of credentialed, knowledgeable community organizers and skilled leaders who can create positive change in their local communities .


CLP’s statewide initiative, California Youth Leadership Corps (CYLC), focuses on expanding community change learn-and-earn career pathways leading to careers in nonprofits, government, and other sectors. CLP partners with community colleges, public four-year colleges and universities, community leaders, and nonprofit organizations to offer academic credentials.


Along with academic credentials, students gain work-based learning experience and mentoring that helps them navigate educational and community change career pathways toward becoming community organizers and skilled leaders in their local communities.
